2011 Program of Work

The Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce (HACC) is a voluntary membership organization with over 385 member businesses and individuals and 450 total representatives.  The HACC strives to support and strengthen the business community in a variety of ways, i.e. by providing networking opportunities through ongoing programs plus providing training and information to its members through seminars, workshops and publications.  The ability to serve on a chamber committee serves as a professional and personal development opportunity.  The HACC serves as a business advocate often releasing a position on issues affecting the business community.  Individuals and businesses seeking information about our community use the chamber as a means for information.  Requests are made through personal visits, phone calls, and visits to the HACC web site.

This strategic plan is the work of several members of the Board of Directors.  The President of the Board of Directors is a volunteer position and the incumbent changes each year.  The purpose of the strategic plan is to provide direction and consistency to the President position and to the Chamber as a whole.


The strength of the Hannibal area business community is vital to the overall economic success in our city.  HACC plays a significant role in providing support and direction to those businesses.  The Chamber understands that maintaining the reputation as a respected voice of the business community is vital to its success and therefore has identified several strategic issues, which will enhance and solidify that reputation.
